I am following Dwardu’s advice and I am not buying vegetables from the supermarket. I have found these vegetable trucks that are so cute but I am still wondering if they are really cheaper. I buy a banana almost everyday from a truck close to my flat while I am coming to meet up Denise who kindly gives me a lift every morning.Yesterday I didn’t buy it but when we were walking to the office (Sliema) I spotted another cute truck. As usual, I tried to speak in Maltese to avoid being ridiculously overcharged, you know, I gave him the usual lines: “Ghandek bananas?” And “Kem hi?” Notwithstanding my flawless Maltese (yeah right LOL) the guy told me 40 euro cents! And I am like: but the other place in Ta’Xbiex charges me 20! And then I realised I had given away my true identity as a foreigner LOL or perhaps he thought that I was Pepe as most people do :) I just paid and left thinking: Is this banana thicker, does it have gold pieces? Oh, anyway…I say this because it seems to me that apart from the obvious designer clothes shops, it looks like a bottle of water has a different price in Sliema.

I think that we have a discreet farter in the course. Every 20 minutes or so I would smell the stink, very discreet the guy must be not to be heard by 50 people or so…This afternoon I will try to pay attention to subtle noises and I will try to unmask the farter LOL. I am staying away from the girl who was stinking the other day so that has been taken care of :) I have talked to another classmate, a nice girl working for a lawyers' company. Most of my colleagues are lawyers I think.
Talking about the course, I really need to sit down with only my book, lamp and highlighter and really read the legal mumbo jumbo and that’s today’s resolution…

LOL LOL LOL Very good post!!! :)I think that it is quite true that in Sliema everything seems to cost more than in other parts of Malta!
I miss the days when the government used to establish a fixed and reasonable price for various products so that people would not have to be constantly wondering whether they are being ripped off! Such prices used to be relatively low so that everyone had easy access to the products.
LOL about the farter!!! :)))
Hi Wen, 'Discreet farter'... when I read this I nearly choked on my sandwich. I thought you might have been refering to me:0 Then I noticed that you are talking about your course. Phew.
Having said the above it has to be noted for the record that I never fart and if I ever did the air would be filled with the subtle scent of fresh flowers.
F
Hi Wen,
I hope your banana was extra-extra good and tasty ;)
About your discreet farter [you seriously crack me up]: how can you tell it's a guy??? And every 20 min? Jeez I would bring one of those toilet air fresheners or odour eaters and put it on my desk for everyone to see. Some must be really thick if they don't get the message...
If so the only other option you would have is sit next to a window to get some fresh air or buy a gas mask. I think the latter would be a true statement *hehe*
Red :) I don't know about the fixed prices...I would say more like reasonable...and good law enforcement...I have heard of cases of tourists overcharged when buying water for instance...
Hi Freddy :) Yes, there is a discreet farter in the course. I confirmed it this afternoon. Either that or he/she doesn't wash his trousers and there is that stink there... :) "subtle scent of fresh flowers"? LOL
Hi Tess :) Yes, I was enjoying every bite of the banana LOL I think it's a guy, no girl would fart like that...I mean...it stinks too much LOL Every 20 mins. approx. LOL I am constantly checking the time to see when the class will be over ;)
Hehe!
You took my advice!
The best one must be this one… :)
Hey Dwardu :) Yes, I followed your advice ;) I will visit Jeffrey tal-haxix for sure. Thanks.
heheheh.... re the farter...I did not notice honestly hehehe the flow wasn't my way this time hehehehe.....
hugzzz
