The Queen

The Queen of the United Kingdom visited Malta yesterday to celebrate her 60th Wedding Anniversary. Apparently she is very fond of Malta as she lived here for quite a while when she was very young.
There was a celebration at the Upper Barrakka gardens where she met several other couples who were also celebrating their anniversaries. Afterwards she walked from the gardens to her car and that's when we took this picture of her together with Dr. Lawrence Gonzi, the Prime Minister of Malta.

The shot is by all means very goos and the position you had was incredibly close. I guess most journalists would envy you for this photo.

IT is interesting how people find their happiness when they are free and for this i must say that her visit was not only political in my opinion but also a relive when she was still free. I do not mean the freedom to move around or the freedom to go by the sea when she likes to but the internal freedom of mind.

OMG how cool is that to see the Queen so close! I'm very very proud she decided to spend the night of her 60th Anniversary in Malta.

I think she's a fantastic person; she's got this enormous sense of duty and her job is extremely taxing - and yet she's done it so brilliantly.

Hi,

I discovered your blog this evening whilst doing research on Malta. So glad that you were able to get close to the Queen. One very important thing though: she is called the Queen of the United Kingdom not the Queen of England. I say this a proud Scot :) Take care.
